Together with the company Abstracta, I have developed a sound-absorbing chair that will contribute to a better sound landscape in cafés and restaurants. The acoustics and soundscapes we live in affect us humans both physically and mentally, for us humans to be able to achieve peace and harmony in ourselves, it is required that we stay in environments that take into account the soundscape. The chair is intended for use in smaller cafés and restaurants, it is adapted and designed for active sitting for a maximum of 20-40 minutes, so-called “fast dining”. The soundscape in these smaller cafes and restaurants often needs to be significantly improved. The kitchen and restaurant area are often close together and create unnecessarily very high sound volumes. The target group is restaurant visitors who enjoy the food at the restaurant and the staff who maintain the restaurant environment.
