Bakom mina händer – en bildberättelse om det introverta barnet
I experience that society is shaped by the strengths and qualities of extroverted people, already as children we are met by these expectations in school. To get good grades, we need to speak loudly in front of the class, be seen and take up space. For introverted children, these demands can be something that goes against their strengths and qualities, which can make them feel inadequate. They are forced to be someone else, when in fact they should be encouraged to get to know themselves and find their own strengths. Behind My Hands is an illustrated story about a gymnastic class from the perspective of an introverted child. In math lessons it is quite easy to hide what you have written behind your hands, but during gymnastics it doesn’t work, there is nowhere to hide. A story about what´s hidden behind the door to the gym, behind the rules of ghost ball and behind the fear of being left alone.
